We aren't paying for college. We have never had "cover all costs for higher education" on our list of must-dos. We aren't interested in borrowing from our own future to fund our children's (adult) present.

My kids are gross. I don’t even care.
My kids are gross. I don’t even care. Well, I mostly don’t even care. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to the 5% of me that still gets bowed up at the pure “ick” of teenage hygiene.
When the Holidays look Different
As Rich had his arm halfway up the business end of a turkey this morning, he took a pause, shook his head and said “what am I doing?” Being the ever present person available to offer ways to do things better, I jumped in with a quick what’s wrong? while googling How to Turkey. … Continue reading When the Holidays look Different
Have Kids, they said…
So many ways to start this blog, the summary of which is: Sometimes this shite just writes itself. Going back to the ImPodsible entry...Remember that one? No? Quick recap then. Rich and I made a very grown up decision to remove laundry and dishwashing pods from our lives. We said things like it’s better for … Continue reading Have Kids, they said…
Flu-ing the Coup
It’s happened again. I thought maybe we could just ride out the rest of 2021 without any major parenting milestones, but alas...kids. Am I right? Or rather, NON-parenting milestones. It is always so reassuring to know how many … Continue reading The Power of Mom
(Step) Broken
I should be used to it by now. I should be so good at dealing with it that it’s just another blip in the day. Oh, we’re doing this again? Okay, well, that sucks. Not sure why you’re making this any kind of deal, let alone a big one. Move on, already. Instead, it seems … Continue reading (Step) Broken
Failure to Launch
This is one of those blogs that could go haywire really quickly - much like the conversations between my husband and I regarding the subject matter. Could go haywire? Oh, yeah - our conversations have absolutely gone haywire. If by haywire you mean, oh, hey, has this caused the two of you any all-out-definitely-count-as-an-argument moments?. … Continue reading Failure to Launch
Summer of Healing
I heard today, again, that this will be remembered as the Summer of Healing. Good grief. Why do we keep having to remembering things? Can we get through an event here or there without having to put a notch on the timeline to refer back to? Although - I guess since we just short of … Continue reading Summer of Healing
But All My Friends Do
If you're wondering what it's like to raise kids these days...stay tuned. If you're wondering if it's really true that all your child's friends get to (insert completely unrealistic activity), stay tuned. If you're wondering if it's possible to count down the days until the next teen leaves the nest while also wishing those same … Continue reading But All My Friends Do
